About BirchCamp

BirchCamp is a newsfeed for writers. Instead of follower counts and endless reshares, it gives each writer a profile, a blog and a place in a shared feed where readers can wander from one camp to the next.

Camps, not crowds

Every post carries a few topics. Each topic becomes a camp: a page that gathers every post on that subject from every writer here. Camps are how you find people who care about the same things you do, without anybody having to build a following first.

  • The home feed shows the newest posts from the whole site, newest first.
  • Writer profiles hold a short intro, pinned links, categories and every post that writer has published.
  • Camps collect posts by topic across all profiles.

Reading is open to everyone

You never need an account to read. There are no cookies for readers, no ads and no tracking scripts. If you want to keep up, every writer has an RSS feed (the Follow (RSS) button on their profile), and the whole site has one at /feed.xml.

Replies around the fire

Anyone can reply to a post with a name and a comment. Replies are read by a moderator before they appear, which keeps threads friendly and free of spam. Our community guidelines explain what belongs here.

Writing here

Writer accounts are by invitation; there is no public sign-up. The BirchCamp Journal is where we share notes about the platform, and the features page walks through what a writer gets. Questions go through the contact page.
