Short answers to what people ask most. Tap a question to open it. Still stuck? Use the contact page.
For readers
Do I need an account to read?
No. Every post, profile and camp is open to anyone. There is nothing to sign in to as a reader.
What is a camp?
A camp is a topic page. Writers tag their posts with topics, and each topic gathers every matching post from every writer on BirchCamp. You will find the active camps on the home page under Trending topics, which simply lists the topics with the most posts.
How do I follow a writer?
Open their profile and use the Follow (RSS) button. It is an RSS feed: add the address to any feed reader and new posts arrive there. The whole site has a feed at /feed.xml.
How do I reply to a post?
Scroll to the end of the post, type a name and your reply under Write a reply and send it. You do not need an account or an email address.
Why did my reply not appear straight away?
Every reply is read by a moderator first. Once it is approved it appears in the thread. Replies that are not approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Can I edit or remove my reply?
There is no account to edit from, so ask us. On the contact page, choose Privacy request, link the post and tell us the name you used.
Does BirchCamp use cookies or tracking?
Readers get no cookies at all, and there are no ads, analytics or tracking pixels. The privacy page lists everything we do keep.
For writers
How do I get a writer account?
Accounts are by invitation; there is no sign-up page. Write to us through the contact page with the topic Joining as a writer and tell us what you write about. We read every request, but we cannot promise an invitation.
What does my profile include?
A cover banner, portrait, short bio, an optional website link, a pinned intro you write yourself, your categories and all your posts. The features page has the full tour.
Can I write in Vietnamese?
Yes. Posts, titles and names fully support Vietnamese and other accented text.
Can I link to my own website?
Yes. Links in posts are ordinary links, and your profile has a website field of its own.
Who owns what I publish?
You do. You give BirchCamp permission to host, show and distribute your posts (for example through RSS). The terms spell it out.
How do I take a post or my whole blog down?
Ask through the contact page and say which posts, or the whole blog, should go. We remove them.
Problems
I found something that breaks the rules. What now?
Use the contact page with the topic Report a post or comment and include the link. If it is your own work copied without permission, choose Copyright instead.
